Re: Disco rates anyone

Not true!!! MSO's pay the contract company to try and "save the sub", typically they (sub) recieves the job 10 days prior to the FCC mandated disconeect day . The contractor typically gets paid at least 2 times more for "saving" the sub that disconecting the sub. Most contract companies get paid a percentage baased on their over all at door "save rates. If they wewre only performing disconects the jobs thenm would be passed along to installers. Fast forward to the 2000's and now most subs have cable equipment ie:: modems converters, mta's and such , contract companies are also rated by the amount of equipment that is retrieved versus left out there.. As far as the win wiin situation, disco subs usually call in and shedule an install a few days after discon in their babbies name (or who ever) then the installer gets paid..
