Re: Getting into constuction

befriend a good splicer (preferably an old cable dawg) and become his helper.  do what he says , when he says it , watch , learn  listen , and take in everything he has to say. I got lucky and was burnt out on installs and my boss didnt wanna see me quit cable so he put me with an old splicer that was retiring from the contract side and going in-house.  good luck - construction is not as consistant on a "local" level , so don't be afraid to go back to installs to make ends meet when construction season slows down ,  BUT once you get a good reputation you don't have to be a road warrior to do it. the road warriors make killer money and are known nationwide if really good, but dont upset the wrong person because it is a small  biz.
