There will be a powered battery back up unit placed inside near the receptacle and a 7-conductor cable will be ran between the backup and ONT. The battery backup is powered from the home and the ONT is powered from it. The 7-conductor wire is, as Altec described, of similar diameter as RG6 and contains 5 low voltage telemetry wires as well as +/- DC. In some systems, an inside-only version of the ONT is used, in which case the fiber drop will be brought inside the home and an all-in-one ONT/BBU will be placed near the receptacle.
