Re: Health Care Summit.

What you guys are ignoring is the fact that those freeloaders hurt you more, when you leave them uninsured. The bill signed into law by Reagan gives illegals and anybody else, the right to be treated in hospitals, regardless of their ability to pay, if they are in need of care. So, hospitals are required by law to treat these people.

Illegals are not, and should not, be able to buy into the healthcare exchange. But they will be able to purchase insurance outside of the exchange. Having more Americans insured in the exchange will bring down the cost of care. This drop in costs will benefit those who purchase insurance outside the exchange as well, because the cost drop will cause the price of all insurance to go down.

Leaving these folks uninsured just compunds the problem. Leaving them uninsured just gurantess you & I will pick up the tab for their very expensive ER visits.  Giving them insurance gives them the chance to arrange MUCH cheaper visits to a doctor's office.  Imagine one of these folks gets the flu and goes to the ER for treatment.  Compare the cost of their ER visit to a doctor's office visit.  The comparison isn't even close.
