You always need to understand the details when someone is offering you a sign on bonus. Did you ever get the $3000? They have no real knowledge of how a techs gets hurt with the gas costs, where I was they paid gas on completed jobs but  we were required to drive to all not homes, and when we put our own gas in, ceertain supervisors would give your truck to someone else on your day off. Some techs who were buddies of the supervisors would have gas codes added so they would make more. As far as tools, if they bought them you should have to return them, but if you paid for them they should be yours to take with you.  Prince was a good company at one time, but they are going to have bigger problems coming with lawsuits concerning labor board issues, maybe that will be their wake up calll.
