You and I have different ideas of what's "fun".
But to answer the OP, I myself like Rigid drills. Never had an issue, equal to DeWalt for alot less $$$. For 1" low gear, 18v minimum. And make sure your coring tool is sharp. And I'm old fashioned. I never let the drill/coring tool shave the aluminum sheath with the exception of QR & TX cable. I only use the drill/coring tool to clean the edge of the cut.
