Depends on the MSO what what they want done. I agree and disagree with both sides of the coin. If I was contracting, I'd rip that fucker out if it was an obvious pirate. Did that for years, until the MSO said, "Call it in to security/loss prevention".
Granted .... Not every tech is ready for an angry disconnect of an illegal drop. Cut'em off and they can come out shooting at you. So for safety reasons ... Yes ... Make the call and let the MSO handle it if that is the policy.
Hell, I've cut off illegal drops with the pirate standing right there with thier kids crying 'cause I shut off the Saturday morning cartoons on'em. Of fucking well, get an "active" account. Move on.
So ...yea. Safety reasons ...call it in when in doubt.
