box of 100 gel splice connectors made EXCLUSIVLY for tapping 2 phone lines together (one existing and adding one to it) is only 5 bucks or LESS at any distributer.. no need to open the NID.. only thing to worry about there is the dsl filter if they have dsl. Cmon guys.. your making it so much harder than it really is.
