Most companies have a "cap" ... I know in Las Vegas the MSO cap is at $5k ..  If you cost the company more than $5k annually in lost equipment, accidents, or customer escalations ...then your gone.  Some areas of the country, that cap is $2k.  I know one "young" tech that lost his job because he got 3 tickets while driving the company van.  All were for speeding.  They guy even went to traffic school and avoided the points to his driver's license, but the insurance company still said they were no longer going to cover that tech.  Poof.  Job gone.

DUI while off the clock and in your own vehicle.  Poof...Job gone.
Vehicular felony while off the clock and in your own vehicle.  Poof...Job gone.

Bottom line:  If your too much of a liablility to whatever insurance company.  Your job is gone or you won't get the job in the first place.
