Re: Health Care Compromise Is Unconstitutional!

As GOP leader Newt G. said, 2010 is not a slam dunk for the GOP.  The GOP has turned into the party No ideas.   That kind of position does not win voters.  As bad as Obama's number are said to be, his numbers are still better than the GOP.  The GOP last came back with their "Contract to America" scheme.

Obam, IMO, has done a B- job so far. We avoided a depression.  The DOW has risen about 3,300 points since he's bee in office, meaning people's 401k's and pensions have regained all of their value, and more, since Bush left office.

There are 2 kinds of economoic indicators. Leading indicators and lagging indicators. The stock market being an example of a leading indicator, and unemployment being an example of a lagging indicator. Obama has not been in office long enough for everything to be turned around. But most of the leading indicators say we're in the right direction. Unemployment will be one of the last things to start improve after a recession.  It always has been. 1 yr office is no where near enough time to completely turn the economy around.

Republicans crack me up.  Under Reagan, we had 6 CONSECUTIVE YEARs of high unemployment, including 19 CONSECUTIVE months of +9% unemployment. Reagan also set record deficits.  Reagan also raised taxes while we were in arecession, and during times of high. unemployment. It wasnt until about the last 2 years of Reagans 2nd term did we have good economic times.  GOPers, praise Reagan, and now these same people are some how upset, because Obama is not able to return the country to good economic times during his 1st year in office, while these same people gave Reagan 6 yrs to turn things around, and consider his Presidency a legacy. It's a big joke, and is why I find it difficult to take some people serious.

Everything I have said is true.  For fun, you should google "Reagan tax hikes". Notice the years Reagan signed them into law.  Then, cross reference the date he signed them into law, with the unemployment rate for those same dates. Then, imagine GOP reactions if Obama did those exact same things. Once you do this, and then you read or listen to some of the mis-informed GOP supporters, you will see how in the dark most GOP supporters really are.  It's actually pretty sad.

To justify dissing Obama, GOPers will have to now agree with what Dems have always said.  The Reagan years SUCKED!
