Just so we have full disclosure, the GOP is not making a "come back" in 2010. They probably will gain seats but it's not a "come back".
In only 2 occasions since reconstruction, has the party who won the White House not lost seats Congress at mid-term eclection. At NO time in history has a party gained seats in Congress 3 consecutive times. HISTORY tells us the GOP will gain seats in Congress, not the performance of DEM. If Dems by chance are able to 3-peat in Congress, THAT would be history.
The best thing the GOP has going for themselves, is that they have hit rock bottom and have no where to go but up. But to consider possible 2010 victories as an example of the GOP being poised to come back, is over-stating things a bit, IMO. It is history that tells us that the GOP gaining seats in 2010, would be nothing more than a 130 year old trend continuing.
