Re: DTV customers switch to Cable within days afte

Rookie,

We hear the same shit on the satellite side from ex-cable customers.  You'll learn that a lot of the customers jump back and forth.  It all depends on what best suits them at the moment.  I also wonder how the cable companies stay in business.

Comcast sent some weenie out to my house to install my internet, but he couldn't get it to work, even though all of my outlets were home runs to the box, and they were quad shield RG-6.  After he dicked around for about two hours, I asked him what his levels were from the street.  He said that he hadn't checked, but he'd let me know.  Ten minutes later, he said that the levels were too high, but he didn't know what to do.  I told him to put an attenuator on the input, and that would fix it.   He had a look like a deer in the headlights.  I gave him a -12db attenuator and said, "Screw this onto the input of the splitter coming into my house."  Guess what.  My modem lit up like a christmas tree, and it has worked ever since.

It's the same shiny coin, but it has two different names: heads and tails.
