C'mon you guys, you all should know this if you're a 'seasoned' tech of any sat industry. Phone lines do collect viewing habits of people, DirecTV even tells you that. Well, actually, they don't tell the public, but the techs know. On their Active channel is a What's Hot feature, they get the info for that feature from the phone lines....among other things.
You all are screaming, yeah, where's the proof..
The proof is online in people's directv account.
There's a section after you log on that allows you to block the collection of info, or to keep allowing it to happen.
