No Mark, not if you put the gb above the splitter in the upper middle and  "s' down to the input side of the splitter.. Besides all that is inconsequential and totally the prefrence of the tech. Personally I prefer to have mine in the horizontal position.  And I have worked for MSO's that usually have two different size house boxes. Small and large. The point is, it still needs improvement.
