Re: Degraded analog pictures

I have been watching this thread, and was waiting for someone to come up with that answer.  Sounds like we have an inexperienced tech out there, and hopefully he will remember just what the problem was so that he can learn from it.  When he described the so called lines, not hum bars, hum bars roll from top to bottom, my first thought of course without seeing said pictures was an overdrive issue.  And, I have seen so many so called techs out there, that have no freakin' clue on how to set up old SA line gear, and sure as hell can't set up the gain maker gear. I can't count the number of systems I have came into behind jack leg techs that had no damn idea how to balance a system, and in fact have had to go back and actually start at the HE and start from the beginning to correct the problem that some hack had caused. If you don't know how to balance a  run, find someone that can teach you and explain to you what you are learning. It is hard to teach over the internet, but if you know what you are looking at, it can be done.  Good luck.
