Why would you put in an amp w/no legs? Maybe your instructor should go back to school T5 is a high end freq return amp. The only reason one might do that is to see the cut off freq on the system diplexers, but you would need a carrier to read it hence "why no legs". Also transmits are high in modems at the end of the line you would want a step attenuator not a amp. Do me a favor ask your instructor why I wonder myself.
