I used hooks for 15 years and could not figure out why people used a ladder. The last 5 years of my wasted life of a cable dawg I used a ladder. Hooking is for young people or on a need to use basis. The ladder is much easier and 100 times safer when you get older. The old line farts on here still hooking are living in the past and don't work as hard as they use too. I can carry a ladder anywhere. As long as it will reach I have no problem. If the ladder is too short then I will climb the pole. People that hooked were looked at as being tuff and strong and a little crazy. Things have changed,Now days you don't have to pull splitters out of your forearms unless you want to. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it.
