Thats why ypu dont go nuts on the returns. But today, the IRS is really trying to eliminate contractors. And if you get declared an employee, all of the deductions you took pre self employment tax calculations become payable by the employer. I would try it as a stick as a threat at least. No one wants a visit from the tax man. And if you are not paying the subs, I would bet he isnt paying the taxes either.

And I know what you mean about prior returns. Been there with them and they actually owed me money, not much money but I forgot about the refund. They sent all kinds of threats, in the end got the refund plus interest.
