The IRS may craw up your ass.  I filed an SS-8 on a douche bag contractor many years ago and ended up getting audited.  IRS flagged anyone who tried to change their employment status and automatically looked at returns for the previous 3 years.  They had lost one of my returns and wanted to take us to task forit.  And even though we showed them a canceled check made out to the IRS and copies of the return in question, we were told it was not enough proof.  They finally let us off the hook.
