Hey there Bob! Hope all is going well besides the modem. I won't be of much help but wanted to let you know that I recall something about the RCA modems that made them worthless with all the problems. But I don't remmeber wha the model # was, I just remember they were RCA and the only way to fix the problem (same as your problem, again, if I am remembering correctly) was to get a completely different make/model modem and put it in. Is that a possibility for you to try at a test house and put it in the CMTS? Thats what I would try even if I had to go walmart and buy a modem.
