Speed...It's not a demo run..It is from an actual hit..I worked power for 8 years and have seen three linemen hit..one by 66k and just arched to his head and shoulder..burned his ear off, hair and several burns to his upper body and was in the hosp. for several weeks but lived..It all depends on how you are grounded..sometimes you get off easy, if the pole is extra dry it cuts you some slack..looking at this picture the pole looks dry..the rescue lineman would have been in an emergency situation and probably have not needed to glove up ..the insulators are blown loose and the fuse probably blew or they pulled the fuse before rescue started. He would have known before any rescue effort took place. Sometimes even 440, 220 and 110 will blow your ass up if you are grounded good..many variables to consider. No two electrical accidents are the same and all accidents are avoidable.
