But it is society's job to let people know what is decent and not decent. And in local government, they may be doing what their constituents have asked them to do. They are there to represent us, or the people of their district, and if there is enough requests that they do something about the stupid way they wear their pants then they should do something. I don't think the federal gov should have anything to do with it. States and towns should handle things at that level because the people living in those towns and states are the ones communicating with the lawmakers there.
