First of all, how do you know what I assumed? I never said auto makers made a profit. I pointed out that tax payers paid more than was saved by getting cars that got better mileage. Where do you get off saying what I assumed???
As far as the rest of what you said.....point taken but tax payers still paid for buying junk cars and then the customer paid for the car so they are the ones who took care of all you just pointed out.
