I'm an installer for Directv myself and surprisingly Direct DOES allow shorts to be worn. As for the holy t shirt, no, unless it was hot or the guy just crawled under the last guys house and his work shirt got massively dirty or ruined. as with all companies, some subs are more forgiving and you can get away with stuff.
directv doesn't like their dishes on poles, for stability reasons, especially if its an HD dish. you need to support it with monopoles and you can't do that on a pole.
but yeah, he should have sought your permission prior to mounting so you can pursue him for damages there. good luck
