Re: A Legal Question

Just so you know, legally you cannot hold a persons chesk...last check or not...for more than 7-10 days IIRC...This is something that needs to be looked up on the labor law site...If the guy has equipment you can either deduct the cost of the equipment or sue but you cannot keep the last check...at least legally...

Why do people come here to the bar to ask legal questions that any lawyer will answer for free??? I myself wouldn't know about it but I had to point the dept of labor to someone that tried that crap with me keeping my last check...

Do yourselves a favor and stay in the right...When you 'ransome' equipment it makes you look bad...When you keep a last check illegally that makes you the bad guy...Two wrongs don't make a right...I don't mean to come off sounding like I'm an angel as I am far from being one...But I have played the game both ways andknow which is the right way which is the way not to do it...

*EDIT* The more I think about it I seem to recall it being 3 days not 7-10...
