Re: Big brother owns your puter

I don't see your point. So because it was only the dealers computer "network" this is OK and not unreasonable search and seizure how exactly. Why is the federal government allowed to search through anyones computer at anytime without a warrant? All of the lefties who howled at the Patriot Act ( which is still in use today by the way ) and the warrantless wiretaps are now going to say this is differnet how?

I am supposed to believe that none of the armies of lawyers in the government had a hand in writing or knew what was in this "legal disclaimer"? They wrote it  and we are to believe it was just a mistake? Nothing in DC is ever left to chance. I also have not heard an offical say no data was ever collected.

The whole clunkers to cash is run by governmental agencies. All of the cars involved have dot records attached. All of the dealers are know and listed. How can a dealer steal from this program if they have to have the backup from dot about the prior vehicle, then a manufacturers certificate of origin and then create a new title for the new vehicle ( ps the state government is making money on each sale also, so believe me they are watching too). So tell me where fraud could go on for long. And with all of the money a dealer has tied up in his dealership, you really think someone is going to risk it all for 4500.00 dollars? And if they did, that is what subpeonas and search warrants are for, then you sell the dealership to refund the stolen funds. This is over the top any way you want to spin it. Tell me I am wrong that if Bush had been in office and this surfaced you would have the same attitude.
