I don't think anyone thought it would get better right away but I really didn't hear any campaign or elected people saying it would get so much worse. The 'stimulus' was to help the economy. Well it wasn't read by our congress, it hasn't been spent to help....only money to campaign obligations has been allocated for the most part with some smaller amounts here and there. Even the states getting aid have serious federal requirements attached. Which is why Alaska for one didn't want the money although some of the legislators wanted it. Bull, we have oil but the liberals won't let us get it. Why do we need federal money? Because they can't control us if they let us get to our natural resources.
How do we know it wouldn't have gotten better with McCain? I don't. There is no data whatsoever to support that. It is just a statement. Now you know I like you and you are balanced but we all know why Obama was elected. And if that is what people felt we needed then ok. But experience should have taken priority. Rice would have fulfilled both of the requirements except that she isn't a liberal. And I would have voted for her. Then the people who wanted a black president, a woman president and a good leader would have gotten their wish. I don't care the race or gender if they are in control of their emotions and can lead and speak without having to have a teleprompter every single time. Granted other presidents used written speeches but never to the level of this one. Come on! Doesn't he know what he is talking about by now? Well no....he has no experience and is being told what to say. Anyway, I digress. And I agree about the bashing Bush. Bush had some bad decisions but you don't bash your president to 'lie' to another party to get in their favor. Stick to your guns and be who you are and the people will see it. We are not stupid.
