Re: Tell it like it is Andy

I posted this before but think it fits here also. Mr. Thetyrone are you going to say the Supreme Court is being bigoted by this ruling? I would call it let the most qualified person get the job.

WASHINGTON – The Supreme Court ruled Monday that white firefighters in New Haven, Conn., were unfairly denied promotions because of their race, reversing a decision that high court nominee Sonia Sotomayor endorsed as an appeals court judge.

The ruling could alter employment practices nationwide and make it harder to prove discrimination when there is no evidence it was intentional.

New Haven was wrong to scrap a promotion exam because no African-Americans and only two Hispanic firefighters were likely to be made lieutenants or captains based on the results, the court said Monday in a 5-4 decision. The city said that it had acted to avoid a lawsuit from minorities.

Also if you knew anything about Mr. Rooney you would know that he did participate in the civil rights movement of the 50's and 60's.

Slavery has been over for 144 years it's time to stop using it as an excuse for what is wrong in the Black (Afri-American) community.

Why is it then when someone like Bill Cosby who grew up in the poor  side of Philia makes a statement telling Black(Afri-American) men to take responsibility for their actions. He is chastised by his own people?

What has Jessie Jackson ever done to help the Black (Afri-American) community? Besides being there when Dr.King (Who I consider was a great man) was assassinated, name anything he has done to directly affect the people for whom he claims to be speaking for?

If everyone is thinking alike, someone isn't thinking.
