I'm curious .... How did you access the lockbox at the end of the building that is normally under lock-n-key by the cable company?   How exactly did you connect if that homerun is not accessable to non-cable employees?

What is the possiblity that the Dish installer got lazy and failed to run his own line?

If you do diplex the line ...Make sure you use a (5mhz to 2gig+) and not the (40mzh to 2gig+).

Also check with the cable company and find out what frequency they're using on the forward.  Some systems are now using 849mhz and 855mhz which are overlap to the Sat.recievers.  To the cable modem it will look like high S/N and not allow a lock up.

Bottom line ... Someone is wrapping a line.  Get ready.
