If all these guys are looking to do is force Knights to make them employee's, be careful what they wish for. Yes, the company will pay WC, and SS, and the other state and local requirements. Most states do not allow backcharging of employees, and some allow it with employee consent. The company will wind up paying OT, but it is minimal, the IRS has established a 1/2 time formula, that is almost insulting.
The biggest problem is the techs are going to have to give up 15-20% of their rates to get this. NOTHING comes for free. Comcast went this way a few years ago, and techs that were constantly bitching, now wish they had that money back. Unless Brighthouse is going to increase their rates to Knights then that money has to come from somewhere.
