I-beam clamp NEC approved??

I've been using I-Beam clamps for years and have always been under the impression that they are NEC approved. Just had a WB guy tell me it's not. Anyone know for sure? If it is NEC approved, is there a link I can forward to the WB guy so he'll know it is approved? Thanks for anyone's input.
