Re: Cable...it's not a job anymore

Hey Gary,

Was just out in Xenia this past week doing a data cabling job at the Chrysler dealership there and in New Carlisle. No place for a New Yorker lol.

Anyway 90k for 80 hrs per week comes out to more like 45k for a regular 40 hr work week which comes out to 865.39 a week or 21.63 an hour. Basically your working 2 jobs as a skilled person to make one salary. It should not be that way that we have to work 2 jobs to survive.

I was out there doing that work for 4 days and made $3500 with all expenses paid for by the company that contracted me and then on Saturday I made another $990 running 9 data lines wall fished and terminated to a patch panel and was done in 5 hours with all material again paid for by the company that contracts me out.   That's the way it's supposed to be for those that have the equipment, certs, GL ins, and experience in this industry. Cable ?????? heck I'd rather be rectally violated by a Syphilitic grizzly bear then work for today's rates.
