I went through the same symtoms with numbness in the fingers and pain in the elbow. Filed for workmans's comp and was sent to doctor who shot it up with cortizone. I was off for a couple of days and I went back to work. Years later, I couldn't even hold a connector. Was told I couldn't refile a claim. It turns out it was the ulner nerve (in the elbow). Finally had surgery. It restored most of the feeling in my hand (still some numbness), but at least I could hold things in my hand without dropping them. I hadn't done installs for 6 years before.
I first noticed it climbing antennae towers, but it continued to progress.
So if it gets that bad, I suggest the surgery. It was a simple outpatient procedure to move the ulner nerve.
