Re: webstar dpc2100r2 modem

Buy a meter capable of DOCIS and take a snapshot (with the meter) to document signal levels, jitter, mer/ber, packet loss, etc. If your going to do it, do it right or not at all. You can take three different manufacture of modems, place them side by side on a 3 way balanced splitter, and get three completely different sets of signals no matter where on the 3 way you place it. Most CPE is mass produced garbage with the modems coming in as cheap as possible. Heck I as joe consumer can go online and buy a quality cable modem at $35 retail. And then the MSO's recycle these things over and over again. Oh and do you know how the MSO's test the recycled cable modems ?????.......They send them out with contractors.

I just don't get it. Why are people being sent out into the field to perform work that they have no idea how to do ???  Hey if I crap in my hat and put it back on my head, will I get crap on my head ???
