Re: CATV Ingress Issue

Wow still on this its been a couple of weeks anyway, I've seen too much really weird stuff in 30 yrs, first it might not be ingress up there 40-50 mhz might be common path (IE) Terminator slightly corroded. If it is ingress you can see it off air w/Meter, if you can track it down to a single run on a local view it will begin to look like a minimum problem but if you got pathtrack it will help or station a guy in the Hub to look. It might be one house amplified but not likly if the diplexer cut off is 40/42 mhz it should drop about 4DB every next 5 mhz in the diplexer network. Last "this will really mess you up" if you have a hot return a modem will drive it past the diplexed network and it will show up as electrical noise in the pictures somewhere in the low band 2to20 mhz and can look like commond path. One more thought some in house monitoring devices use the upper 40mhz range or you just have to get use to the fact you got ingress in that area if it is system wide. You know more than you told use about it good luck dude. Also look at the local FCC licence permits but signal can travel along way down there.
