Re: We are not a Christian Country

Do you think it was a coincidence that freedom of religion was the first right protected in the first amendment in the Bill of Rights? The country was very much founded on religious beliefs as much as taxation. And if you read the amendment:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances

It does not state that religion has to be checked at the door of the town hall. It clearly states that the government can't dictate a religion we have to follow. So where does all of the ACLU and medias gripes come from? Why are they afraid of religion? Why are they not afraid of the right protecting the press or to petition the government for redress? Plain and simple they don't want anyone other than themselves to hold the authority to tell people what to do or believe other than themselves. Any thinking outside of that box is dangerous to them.

And go back through history, all of the governments that went about trying to remove religion from their people treated those same peoples how exactly? Do you remember Hitler and Stalin? What do you think the founding fathers would have done to the leaders of the aclu or the media for their actions against religion? Do you think the treason trial would last more than a week?

We are the employers of the government, start acting like the boss that we are. Stop only listening to 10 second news bites and form your own opinions on things. Stop just worrying about what we can get for 'free' and start looking at the price tag on the bottom of the box and see if it is really worth the cost. Don't do it at our own peril.
