about 12 or 13 years ago,in the beginning they were sold and financed,like a revolving charge card ,,DTV too.Dish came out with their famous easy financing program,if you had a ss# and ID you were approved.First DTV I put in was financed for around  $2,400,less 750.00 for equipment(thats what RCA charged the dealer,wich was the first equipment on the market for DTV,Dish was Echostar) installer and sales guy or lady,,the dealer usually cleared about $900.00 or a Grand! Now this was right after the transition from c band to the 18" dish,walked into the office one morning,they handed me a RCA box with everything in it,said this is what your installing now.
