 Yup Speed, they were doing inspections with helos when I was there in 04, 05, pretty cool. I did wreck-out on US1 from Key Largo to Islamorada , when ever we crossed water we would use a Seadoo  with a tall flag and magnetized beacon for a safety boat. It was cool watching the fiber crew on the offshore cable runs, they used a hugh barge with a  lift on it, some of those poles had to be 100 footers but you would break your gaffs trying to hook into steel. If I make down that way this summer I'll give ya a shout.
