I don't know the technical answers, but I assure you this:
I will not diplex any modem line for any reason whatsoever.
When I install a Sat system, if I see the cable system is diplexed to a room with modem/tv, it gets a homerun new line for sat every time.
My motivation is simple: I want the stuff to work, and I don't want any cable company's "tech" to have to touch my install.
