Im glad someone else posted this question too, i imagine my new pair of wescos arent gonna be broken in until another damn hurricane hits, and lately that is a crap shoot also- (man, ike sucked). I too, want to become more employable. I have checked local community colleges in CFOT, and while unemployed-as so many linemen are around here-the price is hard to fathom because I havent found much in the market that screams 'become a splicer". I want to learn to splice it all, I understand RF and its properties etc, but most of my exp. is in phone.
WHO, could suggest what kind of splicing opportunities would generally bring bucks (stable bucks, that is) in the field, or that is more in the need??. Where is the market headed and WHO is needed most, technically speaking?
To the first guy that asked the origional question, I really saw some intelligent and pretty helpful replies. When I used to hire people it was a 50/50 split when it came to experience vs. personability. Thanks, really.
