If you are cutting a mid span at the span before you remove it from the house so there is no tension then maybe you need to be retrained because if you are just "holding on to the span" you will be lucky if all that happens is a dislocated shoulder!!!!!
I hope all of you reading this post have A FULL UNDERSTANDING of what is being discussed here if you do not PLEASE get some training!!!!!!!! It is YOUR LIFE on the line.
