Thats basikly what dish network does, no one hooks up phone lines for the customer.
Go diging around through the junk to get to a phone jack that may or may not actually work.
Forget that if the customer wants to do that they are welcom to do it, as I tell them " I don't work for the phone co"
Also there is the whole safety thing with a 25 foot phone line running around the room.
My co wouldnt even blink if a customer said they fell and had to go to the emergency room, the bill would be out of you next chek.
And thats if you get lucky and the customer dosent sue you. Phone lines are stupid and for nothing but money, ie. to get pay per view $$$
Do you really think they would shutdown a reciever because it dosent match the number on the account. "Hell they dont even really care as long as someone pays the bill.
I thought dish was a pain to work for but I see DTV is pretty stupid themselves.
