Some people should stick to what they know and leave what they don't know to the people who deserve it more or have the experience to get the job done, that's why a company should always promote from with in the company this way you don't have a bunch of guys under you that are pissed that their working for a guy that doesen't know what he's doing if you bring a guy up that's been busting his ass for the company he'll already have the respect from his crew and your production will improve.
