I agree with the HR22-100 being a bitch, cabledog. I've been able to get it past verification by the method I described above with SWM, and methods I've described prior with KAKU.
There may indeed be software issues but it's not impossible.
My birddog isn't much use on a SWM other than to peak the dish with a KAKU LNB then I swapout to SWM LNB. I use the signal meters from the receiver to get those 103c and 99c signals balanced and peaked.
