For single line service: Place dual RJ11 @ Mta- tie pr#1 (bl/wht or rd/gn) to top jack. Tie pr#2 (or/wht or blk/yl) to bottom jack. Install MTA to bottom jack. In NI, strap pr#2 to alarm feed, strap alarm return to jumper and connect all 1st pairs.
See, that wasn't hard at all.
The best training materials for phone is a piece of plywood with an MTA, RJ11, NI and RJ33x panel screwed to it a few feet apart. You get a box of phone wire and let the techs connect/staple jumpers between the components until it's wired right. Hopefully someone there knows...
Remember, you need to be twice as smart to install phone service because there's 2 wires!
