That return you mentioned from 34 to 36 is way to low. You should be between 38 and 50 db's on return, Obviously, even though this is not desired, you can either crank up the return via tap value change, and or do the tacky and place a 4-way splitter behind the modem, which at a 7db gain would put you into proper return spec. Just a thought. J
