Yeah tree work can be a bitch. I started on a tree crew junior year of high school. They were seriously hardcore, like pirates, but they paid- I was making $16/hr when my lunchmates were still runnin paper routes! It can be quite technical, too which I really enjoyed- in fact, I went to horticulture school and everything. The retaining wall sounds cool- one of the nicest things I've seen was a fella who cleared his lot and later made walkways out of perpendicular sliced trunk and edged his planters with stood up pieces of branch-he set them in sand, like pavers and sealed it all up. If you can imagine, it was much less hippie then it sounds.
Well I gave that tree work up, honestly because I couldn't hack the climbing- Im a big sob- 6'6"/275 lbs. Just not really cut out for it- hehe.
