If they pay for it, then they keep it. But if they want ME to pay for it, then I want some say in how its used. Another key argument is lack of legislation for the 'bit commons'. I agree with the article, that the service provider shouldn't be able to control HOW the internet works- just how fast they get you there and how much they charge for it. The gov't isn't gonna give away their existing networks, just determine that if the taxpayers are gonna build it, then they gotta share. Its important that those provisions remain. The Bells made $3bil last quarter, they dont need a free lunch- I DO!
