Usually you will have a greenbar...There is your active and dsco list right there...Beauty of it is you will get paid one way or the other for EVERY drop that is down...Wreckout for disco drops and rehang for active drops...

Usually part of the gig will be to bring the drop to spec at the ground block...Grounding...Attach ground block etc...NO MID-AIR SPLICES!!! If lucky the drop just pulled the P-Hook from the house...Easy peasy...

Always Set the feet of your ladder so the teeth are down on the ground...Always make sure you have your strand hooks securely on the strand...DO NOT CLIMB INTO TREE LIMBS ON THE LINE!!! DO NOT HOOK INTO ICY SIDE OF POLE!!! You should be able to burn through about 2-3 1000' spools of aerial a day...

Use common sense and you can make some money...Real bitch is that the prices I got back in the 80's are the same they are paying now...I wouldn't go...
