Appreciate the info from all 3. As of the storm damage across AR to Virginia what precautions can one take to assure safety, as in any red flags, or riding out a run looking for limbs in power and neutral. Another question, what saved my ass? Drove a ground rod into neutral. Grabbed the ground rod as in leaning over to get my shovel to dig down after getting resistance. The grnd rod touched the L.E. housing blue flame shot out and ate about 1/2 chunk out of it. Musta been those 1 1/2-2" welt K-marts boots the ones with treads on them. I'd asked my PM about locates naw just go do it, didn't feel right, when in doubt don't do it. Footnote: Last location of the day and go home from there, you know the scenerio.
